So honored to be featured in this months issue of Nonpareil Magazine!

Back in June, I have the pleasure of working with Tanya of Save the Date for Cupcakes on designs for a dessert table she was styling for a photo shoot for Nonpareil Magazine. I designed some of the paperie products {candy bar wrappers, stickers & favor bag toppers} that Tanya used for the table.  It was top secret until the magazine came out last week ~ I hadn’t even seen the photos & I was dyyyying waiting! ;)

Tanya’s “Beautiful in Blue” table is gorgeous! I love the DIY projects she provided for creating boxed invitations & chalkboard mirrors.

Check out the bottom of page 49 of the magazine for a link to download a {FREE} printable of the Candy Bar Wrappers I designed for Tanya’s table.

Seriously, how amazing does the table look? Tanya did such a fabulous job! She’s totally a rock-star lately!

The first project that I had the opportunity to work with Jackie Sorkin on was for the staff at OWN {the new Oprah Winfrey Network ~ launching 1-1-11}. Jackie’s table design theme for the event was a vintage circus look. I designed these cute, fun signs to coordinate with the table look.

The OWN staff absolutely L-O-V-E-D the 20 foot table full of the Candy Girl’s sweets! Hop over & check out Jackie’s full post on the OWN event!

The fabulous Ms. Oprah was not at this event, but she was at the first event Jackie & the Candy Girls did for the OWN staff back in June. How fabulous is that!?

Oprah loves Candy Girls!

One day last month, I turned on my computer & waiting in my Inbox was an email titled “Urgent Oprah Order”. My heart skipped a beat & as I read the email I thought “Is this for real? It can’t be…”

Weeell it was sooo for real! :)

The email was from Jackie Sorkin, one of LA’s most sought after Event & Candy Bar Designers & owner of Custom Candy Buffet Bars. She is one of the top event planning choices for celebrities, high profile corporations & has an elite list of private clients. Jackie is most well known for her crazy & super creative, one of a kind ideas. Her fabulous style & ideas are frequently replicated, but NEVER EVER duplicated! ;)

I responded to Jackie’s email & a little while later she called me. As we talked, it was like we had known each other for years. Jackie has an absolutely amazing, magnetic personality. She is super bubbly, easy going, fun, sassy & craaazy! ~ I’m amazed this girl doesn’t have her own reality show! ;)

On our first call, Jackie told me she had found me online from seeing Ozzy’s party photos & was looking for some designs to use at an event for the staff at OWN {the new Oprah Winfrey Network}. She also said she was looking to add a graphic designer to her team that she could work exclusively with. I was stunned when she said “I would love it if you would be our designer”… My jaw hit the floor ~ Uhhhmm yeah, totally, defiantly, yeeees!!! If you didn’t already have me at I found you online from Ozzy’s party, you definitely had me at Oprah! ;) lol

I think the fact that Jackie found me from seeing Ozzy’s party photos around the web is so awesome. Seriously, how cool is that? Even fabulous, Celebrity Candy Queens think Ozzy is amazing! ;)

Jackie & her Candy Girls spread their super, sweet amazingness to super fabulous clients such as OWN {The Oprah Winfrey Network}, Pepsi-Co, Warner Music, The American Cancer Society, Sephora, American Idol, Fox, Samsung, Hilton, The 4 Seasons, Ritz Carlton, Girl Scouts of America, The Knot, & countless others ~ aaaand even more recently the Emmy Awards!

Check out some of Jackie’s super sweet, amazing candy bar designs…

How creative & gorgoues is Jackie’s work? It totally makes you want to go eat candy right? Believe me I know! I don’t know how the Candy Girls can work around all this candy… I would eat it all day long ;)

Recently there was a new addition to the Candy Girls… Introducing the Candy Princess, Baby Bella!

Jackie & her husband became new parents at the beginning of June. How adorable is this Heiress to the Candy Empire?

LOL this cracks me up & I think it’s the greatest photo EVERRR! Candy Princess Bella, you are too cute for words!! :)

Now meet the Candy Girls… Jackie’s fabulous team that spreads the sweet sugar for their clients…

Look at how much fun these crazy girls get to have at work. Umm most fabulous job ever!! And most fabulous boss everrr!! These girls MUST have a reality show ~ how super fun & entertaining would they be?? They would for sure be even more addicting than Jersey Shore! ;)

So far I’ve worked with Jackie on a few projects for her fabulous clients {including OWN – the Oprah Winfrey Network & the Emmy Awards!}, am currently working on her blog & some web stuff, & we have a few other super fun projects in the works ;)

Seriously though, I feel so blessed to have this opportunity to be working with Jackie & the Candy Girls. Jackie & I talk frequently, & every time I get off the phone with her I’m like is this really happening… ;)

I ADORE you, Candy Girls! Can’t wait to
fly out to LA & meet you in person someday! ;)

I have so much to catch up on, as the summer is winding down. I always feel like Labor Day is kind of like New Years & is a time for fresh starts. Sooo I will be back in full swing over the next few weeks. How exciting, right? ;)

Last week, I had the honor of attending Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Bloggers’ Night Out Event. It was, of course, an absolutely beautiful event, & was held at Martha Stewart Headquarters, in downtown Manhattan. It was originally suppose to be held on their roof deck, but was moved indoors to one of the studios due to the weather.

{Tanya, of Save the Date for Cupcakes & I}

I met up with Tanya, of Save the Date for Cupcakes, before the event at Penn Station & from there we took a cab over to Martha’s building. We were among the first few to arrive & among the first groups to be lead up to the event.

We were lead through Martha’s amazing offices & saw were some of the creative “magic” happens ;) Their offices were everything you would expect them to be – a totally creative, beautiful environment & a place you would absolutely just die to work at.

After checking in & getting our name tags, we headed for the studio where the party was taking place. We came around a corner, where the hallway/ entrance to the studio was lined with fabulous displays from Martha Stewart Weddings

… a display from Wendy, the Pipe Cleaner Lady {showing everyone how to make adorable flower rings with pipe cleaners}, a table of different raffle drawings, a drink bar at the end of hall…

… & a beautiful display of pink mini desserts. Way too cute to eat!

Immediately, there was a little commotion & camera flashes going off left & right, which I knew could only mean one thing… MARTHA! I instantly went into Martha-stalking mode ;) & followed closely behind snapping tons of photos.

There was a small group around her {of course}, she posed for some photos ops with guests, took a phone call & then came *My Martha Moment*

The group around her completely dispersed & I was face-to-face with Martha. She smiled at me & I tried to keep it cool ;) I introduced myself & shook her hand, & fought the urge to start gushing about how she my idol & how much I loved her ;) Instead I asked if I could get a picture with her.

She politely said no that she unfortunately didn’t have the time, because she had to leave soon for another engagement she had to attend. I’ll admit I was mildly crushed at first, but I do totally understand. If she got stuck into posing for photos with all the guest, she would have been there all night.

Then almost immediately the group around her was back, my Martha moment was over & she was led onto her next activities…

She posed for photos playing ping pong & then gave a short speech about the evening & some of her thoughts on blogging & Twitter.

{Thanks to Brandi of Tweedle Dee Designs for helping get this shot!}

If I couldn’t get a photo with her…
how about one with her in the background! ;)

{Martha Stewart Pet Products ~ Ozzy loves them! ;) }

The studio was set up with different stations & displays, showing off all the fabulous Martha Stewart products & there were opportunities at each station to talk to the Editors from all Martha’s different blogs. There was a fabulous array of hors d’oeuvres, desserts & drinks provided throughout the night…

Alexis Stewart! What? Where? Back in stalking mode ;)

I wasn’t sure what to expect as I approach Alexis to for a photo op, but she was super sweet, gracious & all smiles.

The event was only two hours & went by so incredibly fast. There was so much to see & so many amazing, creative people to mingle with.

{Tanya, of Save the Date for Cupcakes & I}

{Tanya of Save The Date for Cupcakes & Stefanie of Brooklyn Limestone}

I enjoyed meeting & chatting with Tanya of Save The Date for Cupcakes, Kate of Kate Landers Events, Danielle of A Few of My Favorite Things, Stacey of Scrumptious Swirls, Stefanie of Brooklyn Limestone, Pam of Party Starters, & many, many more!

Oh wait, there was more!

As if meeting Martha & hanging out at her fabulous event wasn’t enough, I also got the chance to meet & chat with two of my other creative idols… my dessert table designer idol Amy of Amy Atlas Events, & my blogging idol Kim of The TomKat Studio.

Literally, the most perfect night everrrr!

So how to does the fabulous team from Martha Stewart end a perfect evening? By giving their guest two amazing swag bags! :)

It was such a dream come true to have a chance to “meet” Martha & to be at a Martha Stewart event. I’m so beyond thrilled that I had the opportunity to attend Bloggers’ Night Out & the opportunity it provided to meet so many creative, inspirational women.

Looking forward to the next Bloggers’ Night Out! ;)
